| This is nothing to do with anything but everything seems personal today lol. 1. I'm honestly not evil just because I'm a carer who carries out fifteen minutes visits. The system Sucks in a lot of ways but seriously that is the least of the problem. I could rant about this for hours but I'll spare you. 2. Despite what the sun thinks I'm not going to kill you in your beds just cos I have mental health issues. 3. On the plus side beat are campaigning to reduce eating disorder waiting times and get parity between physical and mental conditions. The situation as it is just makes me sad.
Meh sorry this should probably be a blog post but my post yesterday was kinda heavy (and I kinda regret it) so figured I'd dump it here sorry! What news stories get to the rest of you? xx | |

| Aww I'm sorry you've been stuck fighting the system hun it's rubbish isn't it? Just males everything that little bit harder when everything is crap already and the last thing you want is to have to fight just to get medical help you need. And on top of that you can't even have a good vent about it cos it's 'not the sort of thing you talk about'. I'm sorry you guys have been abandoned, it makes everything worse.... I'm so lucky in the help I get now but it's taken years and years of being fobbed off and sent away and told I'm coping quite well enough on my own and I should just think positively! Lol. Sorry I get carried away with my pet cause. I don't know your situation but 1. If You don't know about it already mind provide an advocacy service to help people fight for what they need and 2. I'm pretty sure I have an email link on my blog (or a contact form maybe? ) if you ever want to offload to an impartial stranger. Xx | |

| That's awful, I'm sorry you both feel like that! I'm not a carer and never have been but an sun of my husband's has carers who are lovely and I used to be in recruitment and stuff like that and have helped a lot of carers into work and been into care homes and met some lovely people so I don't like hearing those kind of 'grab the torch and pitchfork' stories!
I also feel the same with mental health issues, it's not something I've ever had to deal with myself but I used to work with people who did have mental health issues and they weren't 'dangerous' 'evil' 'psychos' 'nasty' or any other words that lazy journalists use to scare people!
*big hugs* | |

| It's not me personally, but I had to work from home my first semester at university last year to be a carer. I used to be carer before my back operation. Miss where I used to work, and the clients I looked after. They become like a second family. | |

| Tara-sounds like you've had a lot to do with carers even if you've never done the job! I know the stories aren't aimed at carers specifically but it's hard not to take offence when they're saying the care you provide is inadequate. And yea I know a lot of people with mental health issues and I've never known any of them to be dangerous (except maybe to themselves)... and the most dangerous thing about me is my cooking :p. Thanks for agreeing . Swishie- oof yea back problems and care don't mix well! You build some really strong relationships don't you? I miss my ladies when I go on holiday! I'm sorry you've had such big caring responsibilities in your personal life... it's a big thing having to do that, don't forget to look after yourself, you deserve support too (however unhelpful the nhs may be lol). | Ah blogging is a wonderful outlet! I guess when it's someone close to you like you say there's little choice...though I'm not sure if that makes it easier or harder! Still takes a special person to do it and I'm glad you've got 'you space' with the blog. Aye, loss is tough . And thanks for reading. Xx | |
